Well, this summer has flown by in a fast and furious way. I have thought for quite some time that I would start a blog to help keep family and friends updated on the events in our lives. I am just now getting around to doing this. So many times I have all the intentions of making calls, etc... but by the time things are taken care of in the evening it is usually too late to call! So - it's never too late to update a blog! I will do my best to keep this updated, with news and photos of our lives and times. Love you all!
Wesley and Katelyn started back to school last Wednesday!
It's hard to believe that Wesley is already in the 4th grade. He wasn't too excited about starting back until his teacher sent him a note the weekend before school letting him know that his class would have a pet hamster! I am hoping that this might satisfy his desire for a pet hamster. I really just think they are gross, too mouse-like and nasty! If you happen to call one of these rodents, or umm... hamsters, a pet - sorry! Of course, I swore I could never handle the kids having a pet tarantula either. Then, I shocked myself and everyone who knows me by catching a wild one and letting the kids keep it as a pet. We had Bongo for a year, and the kids sure do miss him!
Katelyn is loving Kindergarten, every day she has been so excited to get ready and go and comes home talking about what a great day she had. This is such a wonderful change from last year! It's amazing, the difference a summer can make.
Abigail now insists on carrying a backpack back and forth to Grandma's house, and a couple days ago announced that she had homework! She is growing up SO fast, but if you ask her, well- she's just as big as Wesley and Katelyn!
We are apparently starting the schoolyear off with a bang, as I got the first call from the school nurse this afternoon. Wesley and I both started feeling a little rough yesterday, and today he started running fever. When I got to the school, Katelyn had been in to see the nurse too, so there we were - just barely a week into the new school year, and having to sign them both out of school. Hoping they get to feeling good enough to get back to school tomorrow.
End of summer re-cap-
Katelyn was in the horse show at the Fulton County Fair, and did really well! She won 1st place in the Lead Line Class, and got a 4th place ribbon in the Trail Class. She then got another trophy for being runner-up to show Princess! So she came home with 2 trophies and a ribbon and she couldn't have been happier!
